Falcon Flight for Traditional Undergraduate Students

Once you apply and are admitted to Friends, there are a few steps everyone needs to complete in order to officially become a Friends Falcon. Directly below is the Falcon Flight Checklist for New Traditional Undergraduate students (first-time freshman and transfer students).

Falcon Flight Checklist for New Students

These are items that new students must complete before the start of their first semester at Friends University. It may seem like a lot to do, but you have time! Finish one step today, then come back later to finish the others. This page will be here whenever you need it!

To keep up with the status of your action items, sign in to your FalconHub Dashboard! There you will see which steps have been completed (green) and which have yet to be finished.

Complete your FALCON FLIGHT:

Note: these items are not in any particular order, so if one task takes more time, you can skip it for the moment and move on to the next one.

  • Financial Aid
    • Complete the Financial Aid Process
      • Complete your FAFSA online at studentaid.gov if you are planning to use any type of federal financial aid, including grants and loans. Use Friends University’s school code: 001918.
        • Please note that the FAFSA for the 2024-25 school year is delayed.
        • Contact our Financial Aid Office with any questions you may have regarding the status of your scholarships, loans, and/or grants. You can reach them via phone at 316-295-5100 or email at financialaid@friends.edu.
  • Become Fully Admitted
    • Provide proof of College Credit.
      • If you have taken courses for college credit, you must send your official transcript(s) to Friends University Admissions Processing. 
    • Send your final High School transcript (First-Time Freshmen only)
      • First-time freshmen are required to send their final high school transcript to Admissions Processing separately. This cannot be completed until graduating high school. If you haven’t graduated yet, skip this step and come back later!
    • NOTE ABOUT ORDERING TRANSCRIPTS:
      • Friends University will order your transcripts on your behalf if you opt in and pay a one-time $25 fee HERE
  • Become Enrolled Full-Time
    • Sign up for Enrollment Day
      • We offer both in-person and virtual options for Enrollment Days. Out-of-state students receive priority for virtual enrollment days. You must be available for the duration of your enrollment day. Sign up here
    • Pay your $100 enrollment deposit, only refundable until May 1 
      • If you applied and were admitted before April 1, your deposit fee will be waived. 
        • For the following steps, you will need your network username and password, which should have been emailed to you.  (If you cannot find this email, or if you have trouble logging in, please contact the Friends IT Help Desk at (316)295-5767 or helpdesk@friends.edu.).
          • Go to the friends.edu website. 
          • Hover over Students at the top left-hand side of your screen. 
          • Click on FALCONHUB. 
          • Use network credentials provided by HelpDesk to login (example: first_last and password).
          • Scroll down and select Pay Deposit to pay the enrollment deposit of $100 (only refundable until May 1).
          • Click make a payment on the left.
          • Click view details on Enrollment Deposit (first box)
            • There will not be an amount until you proceed to make the payment. Select enrollment deposit and it defaults to the amount needed. 
          • Fill in all information including your Banner ID#. 
    • Complete your online Tuberculosis Questionnaire 
      • For the following steps, you will need your network username and password, which should have been emailed to you. (If you cannot find this email, or if you have trouble logging in, please contact the Friends IT Help Desk at (316)295-5767 or helpdesk@friends.edu.).
      • Go to the friends.edu website.
      • Hover over Students at the top left-hand side of your screen.
      • Click on FALCONHUB.
      • Use network credentials provided by HelpDesk to login (example: first_last and password).
      • Scroll down and select TB Form.
      • You will be contacted if additional steps are needed.
  • Complete Housing Application and pay your $200 deposit
    • All first-time freshman are required to live on-campus. Students may request a housing exemption through this form if they intend to live with their parent(s) and/or guardian(s) in the Wichita area. 
  • Sign your Student Payment Agreement
    • Once all charges are placed on your account (housing if applicable, meal plan, tuition, fees) and you have completed the financial aid process, you must sign a Student Payment Agreement that indicates how you plan to pay.

Once your Falconhub dashboard is all green, that means you’re cleared for flight and you’ve completed all the necessary steps to being a Falcon!

These are items that continuing students must complete before the start of each semester at Friends University. It may seem like a lot to do, but you have time! Finish one step today, then come back later to finish the others. This page will be here whenever you need it!

  • Financial Aid
    • Complete the Financial Aid Process

  • Take Care of your Holds
    • Student Accounts Hold
      • This hold is placed on your account if you have an outstanding balance with the university. Make a payment online or in-person to remove this hold. If you have any questions, contact the Student Accounts Office by visiting 106 Sumpter Hall or calling 316-295-5630.
    • Advising Hold
      • This hold is placed on your account every semester, which is released by your academic advisor when you meet to create a course schedule for the upcoming semester. Be sure to schedule an appointment with your advisor to get this hold removed.
  • Enroll in Classes
    • Meet with your academic advisor
      • Schedule an appointment to meet with your academic advisor and create a course schedule for the upcoming semester. Once enrollment opens, use the course schedule that you and your advisor created to enroll through FalconHub.
    • Instructions for Enrolling in Classes:
      • Log into FalconHub
      • Click Enrollment
      • Click Register for Classes
      • When the Action Item Processing pop-up appears, click Continue.
      • You will see a Financial Responsibility Agreement that you will need to read. Click on the box next to Electronic Signature to electronically agree to the above. Then click Continue in the upper right corner.
      • Select the Term for which you wish to register and click Continue.
      • Use the Find Classes page to search for a course. (You may select multiple subjects in your search. You can also search by CRN under the Enter CRNs tab).
      • Once you have located the course(s), click Add to add the course to your Summary.
      • Select Submit in the bottom right corner of the screen to finalize enrollment in your selected classes. Please contact your academic advisor if you receive any error messages preventing registration (i.e. prerequisite error, class is full, time conflict, etc.).

*Students enrolling full-time must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester. Part-time enrollment may impact scholarships, loans, grants, and additional financial aid. Please check with the Financial Aid office if you plan to enroll part-time.

  • Sign your Student Payment Agreement
