elements of management and leadership within business operations. The main objective in designing this program is to enable participating individuals to understand processes, tools, techniques, and technologies to make their organization more competitive and efficient. I recommend this program to those who are looking for a focused and practical graduate degree and training in managing operations in service and/or manufacturing sectors. In my many years of work and research in service and production companies, I have noticed an increasing demand for highly educated individuals with strong communication and problem solving skills. We offer courses in this program that are hands-on and applied to strategic and daily management of operations of a company's supply chain, quality, manufacturing/service processes, and project planning and control. The program assists students in understanding and developing the skills to effectively participate and manage in teams and projects to improve operations, quality, productivity and capacity of service/production organizations. Real world learning experience is used to provide students the opportunity to develop the advanced competencies needed by managers and related positions.
MSOM students come from different business sectors: manufacturing, health care, finance, communications, transportation, banking, construction, and any other process-oriented entities. Their goal is to gain the principles, knowledge, and tools to improve and enhance productivity of processes in creating goods and services. Upon graduation, students are prepared to serve as effective leaders for operations-oriented positions in world-class businesses and industries.
Sincerely,
Farhad J. Tadayon, Ph.D.
