Having trouble accessing the Library's online resources?
Do you have a valid username and password?
Current Friends faculty, students, and staff automatically receive usernames and passwords which alllows access to proprietary databases. If you are a current employee or student and do not know your username/password or they don't seem to work, contact the Help Desk at 295-5SOS or go to the Network Logon Retrieval page to retrieve your information.
What type of browser are you using?
Please see the Site Best Viewed With page for browser information.
Is your web browser configured properly?
The default settings in most versions of Netscape and MS Internet Explorer generally should be okay to allow you access. Sometimes 'cookies' are turned off in order to disallow sites from writing configuration files to your computer. Turn cookies on and proxies off in the preference settings of your browser.
Who is your service provider?
If you are on campus and are unable to access any library databases contact the Help Desk at 295-5SOS. If you are dialing in from an outside ISP and you can't get to any internet functions like web pages or email, check with your provider.
Did you try to access at any other time?
If you have tried connecting at several different times you may need to report the problem to the Help Desk. When reporting problems always be as specific as possible in describing the problem, (ie. did any error messages pop up on the screen? What were they? etc.).
Are you asked to supply a domain name?
In some configurations you are asked to supply a domain name when accessing the Friends University network. The domain name you should be using is FRIENDS try putting this in that blank to see if it works.
