President's Welcome
Every college claims to be special, so a revealing question might be, “What makes Friends University special?”
As one of the newest members of the Friends University family, I can attest to the warmth and helpfulness of everyone here. As the country song has it, “Love isn’t something you say, it’s something you do.” Friends University loves its students by providing a superior experience that translates to student success. Every person you will meet here, no matter his or her job, is in the business of student success.
But the Friends University difference extends beyond that love for students to an authentic love for learning and the role that learning has in service to our world. Our founders envisioned a university where students are educated to change the world for the better. Whether our students settle in Wichita, in locations across America, or in foreign countries, you find everywhere stories of our people making a difference. Across our nation, and especially across Kansas, you’ll find Friends University alumni improving the lives of their neighbors and their communities.
In learning and in serving, the Friends difference is experienced as an attention to detail. From the first moment you reach our campus in Wichita or our locations in Topeka and Lenexa, you find well-groomed grounds, first-rate facilities, and programs that seek to accomplish—in detail—the outcomes that will make our students better. Some people want to know that “big picture.” We know that the big picture is accomplished by getting the details right, day after day.
Thank you for having a look around our website. If you’re looking for a place that is unexcelled in its warmth, authentic about the learning experience, and attentive to detail, I think you will find Friends University special. Whenever you’re near our campus in Wichita or our locations in Topeka and Lenexa, stop in and experience the Friends difference.
