Success Story: Susanne Smith
I chose the MSL program at Friends because it is a small, private university much like the university where I received my undergraduate degree.
I wanted what Friends offers: smaller class sizes and professors that provide personal attention to students and their needs. The MSL program was recommended to me by a dear friend and mentor as a program that would prepare me to be an administrator, with a schedule of classes that would still allow me to work full time and take care of my family.
The classes were all very beneficial and informative. That internship that was completed at the same time as the coursework, gave me an opportunity to practice those things that we were learning in classes. The rapport that was developed among my classmates gave me a wider variety of view points to draw from.
I am now an elementary school principal here in Wichita! I have a support system comprised of the students who have graduated from MSL, and the continued contact with many of my professors (who are all staying in contact with what's going on in their schools so that they can better address those issues with current students).
