Looking for a career working with wildlife?  Interested in conducting research outdoors?  How about managing natural resources for the sake of conservation?  The Friends University Field Biology program is designed to provide students with the educational background needed to pursue a wide variety of environmental careers or the necessary preparation for graduate studies.

The program includes a strong background in basic biology, as well as foundations of math and chemistry.  Upper-level courses include conservation biology, plant ecology and systematics, ornithology, mammalogy, and travel courses to the Gulf Coast of Texas or mountains of Colorado. Every student is also required to complete three credits of internship in a position of the student’s choosing.  The classroom and field experiences combine to result in a unique college program that has become increasingly popular over recent years.  

Because this Bachelor of Science degree comes from Friends University, it includes a broad liberal arts core curriculum designed to produce skilled and flexible graduates ready for the challenges of the 21st century workplace.  The small class sizes and personalized attention mean higher rates of success than some larger programs.  Additionally, many students majoring in Field Biology participate in real field research under the guidance of a faculty member.
