The Math Education program at Friends University prepares students to teach math to grades six through 12. This four-year program includes an internship during the fall semester of the senior year. Graduates are licensed to teach by the state of Kansas after successfully completing the degree and passing the Principles of Learning and Teaching Exam (PLT). Other requirements for a degree include a cumulative 2.75 grade point average with no “D” grades in the major. There is a demand for talented and qualified secondary math teachers in the United States.
