Dear Educators,

Great things are happening in the Graduate Workshops department!

Friends University offers graduate level workshops across a number of content areas and grade levels, supporting the needs of educators seeking re-licensure opportunities, salary advancement, and professional development. Workshops also provide elective options for students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program, renamed the Master of Education in Teaching and Learning (M.Ed) program starting fall 2015.

In response to requests made by our many loyal participants, you may now enroll and pay for workshops online. Online enrollment is easy, with all necessary information needed to register and pay located within the current Graduate Workshops brochure or in the provided step-by-step instructions (see left navigation for Registration and Payment Instructions).

Whether you are new to Friends University, or are a returning student, we ask that you complete the brief Information Request Form (see left navigation) in order to provide updated information or to establish you as a workshop student! No matter what your status (new or returning), we simply ask that you submit an updated Request Form to us for each term (fall, spring or summer) that you wish to enroll.

New Students Only

If you are new to Friends University, never having taken a workshop or class, your Information Request Form allows Friends University to begin the process of establishing you with a student identity. In two to three business days, you will receive an email from Friends University Information Technology department, providing a user identification number (student ID) and pin number (password). You will use these numbers for all registrations, so please keep them in a safe place.

Returning or Current Students

If you have taken previous workshops, classes, or are a current degree-seeking student, then your Information Request Form allows Friends University Information Technology department to update your existing Self Service Banner account, which ensures proper access. To check the status of your account, prior to registration, please wait one business day and then call Help Desk at 316-295-5767 during regular business hours or email

Step Two-Enrollment


Spring enrollment for workshops will open to the public on December 1, 2014! You may enroll 24/7 at your convenience. Use the information provided in the brochure (crn#’s, title, dates, cost) to assist you as you select workshops. Click on the Enrollment and Payment tab to begin the process. Frequently Asked Questions


  1. Can I change the pin number that has been assigned to me by the IT department?
    Yes! Once you have received your user identification and pin number you may change your pin number to better suit your needs.
  2. If I have taken workshops before, do I still need to complete the Information Request Form?
    Yes, we ask that you submit a new form each term, so that your account information will be updated. Simply complete the Information Request Form (see link), wait one business day, and then contact Help Desk at 316-295-5767 or email at to confirm the update of your account and collect any needed information for account access.
  3. I am a current METL/MAT, or other area Friends University degree-seeking student. Do I need to submit a form in order to take workshops?
    No, meet with or contact your success coach/advisor, as normal, to obtain your needed alternate pin for registration.
  4. If I do not submit an Information Request Form first, will I be able to register for workshops?
    No, as online registration requires you to have a user identification and pin number. This protects your information!
  5. What happens if I lose/forget my user id# or pin#?
    Please contact the Help Desk if you have trouble logging in, need instructions, or assistance at or by phone at 1-316-295-5767 or 1-800-794-6945 x5767.
  6. What if I submit an Information Request Form now, but don’t want to take a class until later?
    That’s okay! Just remember that you will need to submit a new form each term in order for us to update your account.
  7. What are some of the services I will receive with online registration?
    Once you have access to your Self-Service Banner account, there are many services available to you. You will be able to view your history and activity of workshops taken through Friends University. You may also view a copy of your unofficial transcript. This may be extremely helpful as you are reviewing your re-licensure dates and needs. You may also add/drop classes according to the dates listed for each offering.
  8. When can I register for a workshop?
    You may register for a workshop during open enrollment. We suggest you enroll quickly, as classes fill!
