Our graduates are scattered across the country, and even around the world. But no matter where their lives have led them, Friends University alumni all share a common bond: the place they earned their academic honors.

That's why the Alumni Office is working with our vendor, Harris Connect, on the 2010 edition of our alumni directory.

This directory will include comprehensive biographical listings with contact information, career overviews, and family highlights of our alumni. Plus, a special section about the school will help you reminisce as you read about our past and learn what's in store for the future.

To make sure our directory is as up-to-date as possible, our publisher, Harris Connect, began contacting Alumni in August to verify that the information we will print is accurate and complete. You most likely have already received information via postcard, e-mail and telephone solicitations.

It is the goal of the Friends University Alumni Office that by offering this directory, our alumni will have the opportunity to catch up with former classmates and network with other professionals in their own hometown as well as all across the globe.

Q. Why is Friends University utilizing a third-party vendor for this directory project?
A. While the Alumni Office prides itself on the relationships it has created with our graduates, our small staff could unfortunately not properly manage this project of collecting current information from more than 20,000 graduates.

Q. Who is Harris Connect?
A. Harris Connect is the third-party vendor who is conducting this research project on behalf of Friends University. They have more than 45 years experience researching and publishing alumni and membership directories. More information about them as a company can be found online at www.harrisconnect.com.

Q. Why do I keep receiving notices from Friends University with an address in Chesapeake, Virginia?
A. This is the return address for our third-party vendor, Harris Connect.

Q. I have not had an opportunity to update my information yet for this project. How can I do this?
A. Please feel free to call our third-party vendor, Harris Connect, toll-free at 1-800-414-4055 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. or on Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CST). You may also contact the Friends University Alumni Office by sending an e-mail to alumni@friends.edu to request your unique URL to securely update your information online.

Q. Will my information be available for anyone to access?
A. No. The only persons who will have access to the information will be other Friends University alumni who have opted to purchase the directory. This information will also be located in the Friends University President’s Office and Alumni Office. No other campus office will have access to this directory.

Q. How often does Friends University publish an alumni directory?
A. Typically, the Alumni Office will work with our third-party vendor, Harris Connect, every 5 years to publish an alumni directory. (The last one was published in 2002.) However, due to the recent database conversion done campus-wide, this edition was temporarily delayed.

Q. How much does the 2010 alumni directory cost?
A. There are many different versions of the alumni directory that may be purchased, including a hard-bound version, a soft-bound version, a CD version, as well as smaller, “reunion-only” version.  Prices start at approximately $40.

Q. How do I place an order or cancel my order?
A. Please feel free to call our third-party vendor, Harris Connect, toll-free at 1-800-414-4055 Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. or on Saturdays, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (CST). You may also contact the Friends University Alumni Office by sending an e-mail to alumni@friends.edu and we will relay your order request to Harris Connect.

Q. When can I expect to receive my 2010 alumni directory?
A. Harris Connect will begin shipping all orders in March 2010.  If you have not received your order by April 1, 2010, please contact the Friends University Alumni Office either by telephone at 1-800-794-6945 ext. 5900 or e-mail alumni@friends.edu.

Q. Will Friends University receive any monies from this project?
A. No. All costs associated with the production of this project will be paid for directly from the sale of the directories. Additionally, this project is not being utilized as a fundraising opportunity by the University.
