Sheryl Crawford
Member
Sheryl graduated from Friends University in 2007 with her associate’s
degree and again in 2009 with her bachelor’s degree in business
management.
Sheryl and her husband live in Oskaloosa, and they
have two sons. Sheryl works for Educational Credit Union, and in her
free time she enjoys sewing, reading and walking.
As a member
of the Topeka Alumni Advisory Board, Sheryl looks forward to staying
connected to the University as well as with former classmates. She
hopes to help the board continue its goal of giving Friends more
visibility in the Topeka community.

Mary Duncan
President-Elect
Graduating
from Friends University in 2009 with her Master of Arts degree in
Teaching (MAT), Mary remembers that her
favorite project as a student was the creation of a website. "I have it still going today!" she said.
Mary
and her husband John live in Topeka and have one son. She is currently
working on her doctorate degree in education, and in her spare time,
she is also a speaker and writer. When Mary isn't busy with work,
school or serving on various committees (such as the Friends University
Topeka Alumni Advisory Board and the Kansas Children's Discovery Museum
Program Committee), she loves to quilt and also mentors young mothers.
Mary
is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education
as well as a member of the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) International
Advisory Team. Mary works with editors of the International magazine to
implement articles and topics applicable to young mothers.

Tricia Eddy
Member
Tricia received her bachelor’s degree in organizational management and
leadership (OML) from Friends University in 2001. She and her husband,
John, live in Topeka and have two children. Tricia works for Blue Cross
and Blue Shield of Kansas.
Tricia loves to spend her free time
reading, scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, quilting and being
involved in lots of charity work.
As a member of the Topeka
Alumni Advisory Board, Tricia hopes to help with the various planning
processes involved with Friends University events. She then hopes that
more alumni in the Topeka area will also want to stay involved.

Jennifer Hermann
Member
Jennifer graduated from Friends University in 2002 with her undergraduate degree in business management. She and her husband, Brian, live in Topeka, and she works for the State of Kansas, Department of Revenue. Jennifer enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, photography, yoga and running in her free time. As a member of the Topeka Alumni Advisory Board, she has a desire to give back to Friends and would like to see the University get more involved with various events in the community.

Selena McNaul
Member
Selena graduated from Friends University in 2006 with a Bachelor in Business Management from the Topeka education center. "I got more than just an education out of the whole experience," Selena said about her time at Friends. Selena is currently a senior program manager and event coordinator for Junior Achievement, a nonprofit company that trains and pairs up volunteer business people to work with elementary and high schools teaching economic literacy and workforce readiness. Selena was a volunteer at Junior Achievement for 10 years before starting with the organization six years ago. She has won the organization’s top award, the "Summit Award" for four years in a row. In her free time, Selena enjoys watching college football, learning to quilt, cooking "old school" and hanging out with her friends and her daughter Harper. As a member of the alumni advisory board, she wants to give back to the University by helping students obtain the experience of becoming marketable through finishing a degree.

Janet Starnes
Member
Janet was first introduced to Friends
University by a co-worker. She said, "When I talked with Dr. Bill
Wunder [about the MBA program], he convinced me that Friends was the
best!"
She then went on to earn her Master's of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 2009. When
Janet is not spending time with her family, cooking, at church or doing
yoga, she volunteers for several organizations including Project
Topeka, United Way, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Burlington
Northern Santa Fe Railway Political Action Committee (RailPAC).
She
is currently employed with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company
and lives in Topeka with her husband, Clinton. She has four grown
children along with five grandchildren.

Jennifer Wassemiller
Secretary
Jennifer graduated from Friends University
in 2000 with her bachelor’s degree in music education. Her first
exposure to Friends was when she made a campus visit during fall break.
The availability of the administration and music professors to talk
with her about attending solidified her decision to attend Friends.
Jennifer
works for the Osage City Public Schools as a music educator. In her
spare time, she enjoys being involved in fiber arts, music, traveling
and spending time with her family. Jennifer
is excited to serve alumni and also hopes to help the University have a
“bigger presence” in the Topeka area via networking events between
students and alumni of all the Friends University campuses.

Nellie Weiss
President
As a lifelong student, Nellie is well-acquainted with Friends
University. She received her associate degree in 2005, earned her
bachelor's degree in Organizational Management and Leadership in 2007,
and her Master of Business Administration in 2009.
She and her
husband, Butch, live on a farm near Lyndon, Kansas. Nellie is a
veterinary sales representative at Hill’s Pet Nutrition in Topeka.
She enjoys spending time with her
extended family and grandchildren, Emma Kate, Corvin Lee and Maddie
Lynn.
