Annual Giving

The Friends Annual Fund is a program that was created to provide an opportunity for alumni and friends of the University to make an annual gift in support of Friends University. The focus of our Friends Annual Fund yearly campaign is to raise unrestricted dollars to be used in the areas that need funding the most, although gifts of almost any kind are made during the campaign. The Friends Annual Fund program is conducted by the University Relations Office, which serves as a resource for those who have inquiries about their giving.

Schedule
Friends University's fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30, and the Friends Annual Fund campaign is based on this schedule. The following represents our typical schedule but is subject to change:

  • October: Reverse Phonathon – This is a direct mail piece, offering an opportunity to make a gift prior to our Phonathon.
  • December/January: Phonathon – We contact those who have not made a gift through the Reverse Phonathon.
  • May: Year-End Reminder Letter – This mailing is sent to everyone who gave a gift the previous fiscal year but has not made a gift the current fiscal year.
  • June: Thankathon – Friends University students spend a week personally calling donors to thank them for their assistance.

The above information is a general summary of our annual processes and does not include any special initiatives or events that may be developed to provide additional opportunities for our alumni and friends to support the University.
