Friends University Fine Arts Department offers a variety of both ticketed and free events throughout the school year. This year, the box office will be offering three season ticket packages tailored to the various interests of our patrons.
Each package contains one ticket to the concerts within the selected group.
Well-known Wichita jazz artist and Friends University professor Lisa Hittle will be a featured performer at a concert to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children.
Hittle, director of the Friends University jazz department and assistant professor of music, will join the Midian Shrine Million Dollar Band DanceKatz and the Senseney Music Community Band in this special performance at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Wichita Scottish Rite Center auditorium at 332 East 1st Street.
Friends University is pleased to announce the opening of Eclectic, featuring artwork by Friends University faculty, students and recent graduates, at Exploration Place’s Bridging Art and Science exhibit (located on the indoor bridge) through October 2013. The campus community and the general public are invited to an opening reception that will take place Friday, June 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Various pieces using different media will be shown – including acrylic, mixed media, digital photography, linoleum block prints, embossing and digital graphics.
Join us for an old-fashioned outdoor summer band concert as the Concert Band joins the Senseney Music Community Band for a day of marches and traditional tunes at 3 p.m. May 5. The concert will take place on Rose Window Plaza, directly in front of the Davis Administration Building.
Tenor Earnest Alexander will perform in this free concert. There will be a free-will offering to benefit Youth Horizons.

The Friends University Singing Quakers will perform their annual Symphony of Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. April 25-27, and 2 p.m. April 28 in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium. This year’s production, “Heroes and Villains,” will feature works from a variety of Disney shows, old musicals, and other Broadway productions.

An exciting night of big band music will close the Friends University Jazz season at 7:30 p.m. April 12 in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium. The annual Senior Night concert will feature and celebrate the graduating seniors in both Jazz Ensembles.
