Friends University College of Adult and Professional Studies announces new degree programs, reduced tuition

Friends University has embarked on a large scale expansion and improvement of the College of Adult and Professional Studies program that includes the addition of two new degree programs, enhancements to existing programs and a reduction in tuition fees for adult and professional students. 

The two additional degree completion programs are Elementary Education and Psychology. Both degree completion opportunities will be available for Fall 2015 student registration.

Mitch McVicker Will Keynote Friends University Commencement

Contemporary Christian musician Mitch McVicker will bring his inspirational message of spiritual growth as the keynote speaker at the Friends University Commencement Ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at INTRUST Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman.  

About 600 students from the College of Business, Arts, Sciences and Education, the College of Adult and Professional Studies, and the Graduate School are candidates for graduation. 

Friends University announces 2015 graduation candidates

Approximately 600 Friends University students are eligible for graduation this May. Nearly 500 students are expected to walk in the graduation ceremony in Wichita Saturday, May 9, at INTRUST Bank Arena. Over 420 are also expected at the Pre-ceremony Campus Celebration breakfast.

Friends University Students Receive Mayor's Send Off And Award

Two groups of students were recognized by the Mayor at The Wichita City Council meeting this morning.

Students from Friends University received an official send-off from City of Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer, and will act as student ambassadors to the city of Cancun, Mexico as they prepare to leave for programs abroad. One group’s focus is on cultural research and Spanish language immersion, while the other will focus on service and health care.

Kansas Supreme Court Justice to Visit Friends Campus

Friends University Names 14th President

Friends University has named Amy Bragg Carey, Ed.D., as the university’s 14th President, effective July 1, 2015. Dr. Carey comes to the university from Saint Paul, Minn., where she has served as the Vice President for Institutional Advancement at University of Northwestern since 2003.

Annual Chili Cook-off Returns Feb. 12

As part of the Cherry Carnival Week, Friends University welcomes students, staff, faculty, alumni and their families to attend the 17h annual Chili Cook-off from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in the Garvey P.E. Center Multipurpose Room. This free event has become popular in the campus community with more than 450 attendees last year. Participants can sample each booth’s chili and vote on best theme and best chili as well as snack on hot dogs, beverages and ice cream.
