The 34th Annual Telly Awards has honored Armstrong Chamberlin Strategic Marketing with a 2013 Bronze Telly Award for its Friends University regional TV campaign, “Are You Ready?” The campaign included television commercials and online pre-rolls, written and directed by Armstrong Chamberlin and produced by Digital Brand of Wichita.
Friends University is pleased to announce the immediate move toward Communities of Practice for CAPS, providing a positive affect for most of our campus in some way. We would like to outline the major elements of the new Communities of Practice, giving all constituents a basic understanding of what this means to Friends University.

Friends University will recognize about 650 graduates during a commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. May 11 at INTRUST Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman, in Wichita.
The ceremony will include 247 graduate students and 393 undergraduate students, and graduate students will be hooded during the ceremony. More than 500 graduates are expected to participate in the ceremony.
Friends University plans to test its Emergency Notification System (ENS) – also known as Falcon Alert – for the spring storm season at noon Monday, April 15. If the weather is threatening that day, the University will postpone the test until the following Monday. The test will take place in all University locations.
Three Friends University students brought home top honors from the 33rd annual Great Plains Students’ Psychology Competition March 15-16 at Creighton University.
Friends University is partnering with Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City (MCC) and Neosho County Community College (NCCC) on articulation agreements that allow students to seamlessly transfer credits from both community colleges to Friends University.
Friends University is helping to make the dream of a perfect prom night into a reality with the third annual Gown Town event.
Area high school students are invited to attend Gown Town from 4 to 8 p.m. March 8, and 9 a.m. to noon March 9. Boys and girls will be able select from donated gowns, suits, and accessories that will be available free of charge. A seamstress will also be onsite to help with alterations.
Join Friends University’s Freddy Falcon, a variety of other Wichita-area mascots and the Friends University community for the 2nd Annual President's Run Saturday, April 6.
Participants will have the option of running the Falcon 5K Competitive Race or the non-competitive Mascot Mile Fun Run/Walk around Friends University’s beautiful campus and the surrounding Delano neighborhood. The 5K race will be a part of the upcoming Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon in May.
Friends University has approved a modest 5 percent tuition increase for traditional undergraduate students in the College of Business, Arts, Sciences and Education (CBASE) for the 2013-14 academic year.
“The University has worked very hard in recent years to ensure our costs remain as reasonable as possible,” said Dr. T.J. Arant, president of Friends University.
As part of Cherry Carnival Week, Friends University welcomes students, staff, faculty, alumni and their families to attend the 15th annual Chili Cook-off from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, in the Garvey P.E. Center Multipurpose Room. This free event has become popular in the campus community with more than 900 attendees last year. Participants can sample each booth’s chili and vote on best theme and best chili as well as snack on hot dogs, beverages and ice cream.
