Chili Cook-off Event Information

  • When: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012
  • Where: Garvey P.E. Center Multipurpose Room
  • Cost: Free to students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families

This annual event has become a popular tradition at Friends University. Last year's cook-off drew more than 800 attendees who tasted the special recipes of 13 chili chefs. This year's 14th annual cook-off promises to be bigger and better than ever and a great way to warm up on a cold winter's night. Come sample the different chili's and vote on which is your favorite.

As you enter the Multipurpose Room, you will receive two tickets to vote with: one for best chili and one for best theme. Booths will be located around the room with small taster cups at each site. After you've visited each booth, vote on your favorite chili and favorite theme. Also available will be a free buffet serving hot dogs, chili, beverages and ice cream.

Following the cook-off, the Falcons take on Kansas Wesleyan University in a 6 p.m. women's game and an 8 p.m. men's game in Garvey Gymnasium. Winners of the chili cook-off will be announced between the women's and men's games.

Space is limited to 16 booths, so sign your booth up as soon as possible. Click here to register.
