Community Partnerships

Friends University works in partnership with several organizations across Kansas to ensure we are meeting the needs of our community and our students.

Newton Medical Center
Beginning in early 2011, students enrolled in Friends University's Master in Health Care Leadership (MHCL) program will be able to take courses in a hospital setting at the Newton Medical Center. The program focuses on the business side of health care, and hospital executives serve as adjunct professors. For more information on the MHCL program, click here. Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (PBPN)
Friends University was selected in spring 2010 to become the preferred education provider to the PBPN tribal community.  Friends University provides a variety of adult education programs to tribal members.  For more information, click here.

Sedgwick County Zoo
For more than a decade, Friends University has had a unique relationship with the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita.  Our Zoo Science program is unique at a national level.  Students in Zoo Science not only take classes on campus, but they also take specialized courses at the zoo and gain practical experience working with zookeepers and animal exhibits.  For more information about this program, click here.

Salvation Army
For more than 15 years, our Wichita campus has closed its doors for one day in December so approximately 300 staff, faculty and students can help the Salvation Army prepare for its holiday distribution to needy families in Wichita.  Topeka and Kansas City alumni advisory boards also work with local charities to conduct a community service project that benefit their communities as well.
