Dual Advising

Purpose
The purpose of this Dual Advising Program is to provide the opportunity for students enrolled at a community college to access Academic Advising and/or Academic Success Coaching with Friends University staff throughout the completion of their Associates program in preparation for their plans to transfer to Friends to complete their Bachelor’s degree. The goal of the program is to provide a seamless transition for students transferring from partner schools by providing support throughout a students’ academic journey to their four year degree plans and beyond.

Process

  • Students must be enrolled at a partner Community College
  • Students should complete the Dual Advising application at the time of enrollment at the community college of their choice. Students may complete the Dual Advising application prior to applying for admission to Friends University. A separate application will be required when students are ready to transfer.

Eligibility
Students must meet the following eligibility requirements for admission to the Dual Advising Program:
High School GPA or cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher

Students who participate in the Falcon Quest Dual Advising Program will receive the following program benefits:

Students will receive academic success coaching from Friends staff in addition to their community college advisors while still enrolled in the community college. This collaborative support ensures that students are taking transferable courses and courses that will keep them on track to finish their bachelor’s degree in a timely manner.
