Deb Bolen remembers playing at Friends University as a child. Her grandparents lived down the street, and they would come play on the grass and slide down the rail of Davis Administration Building. Consequently, Friends University has memories of family that are priceless. Of course, it never dawned on Deb at that time that she would eventually work here, earn her bachelor’s degree and have another group of people she would call family.

As a Campus Visit Coordinator in the admissions office, Deb’s key role is scheduling individual and group visits for prospective students, appointments for faculty visits, meetings with athletic coaches and auditions for fine arts students. She also schedules campus tours, classroom visits, visits with student clubs or organizations and visits with admissions counselors and financial aid representatives.

One of the highlights for Deb has been hiring, training and developing Student Ambassadors. These Ambassadors are the first impression of the student life at Friends University. They give tours of the University and assist with the everyday running of the Admissions office. Deb considers it a privilege and a joy to be a part of these student’s lives.

As an employee, past student and parent of two that attended here, Deb says that Friends University has impacted her life in ways she would have never dreamed. Deb believes she has the perfect job – being able to help future falcons create memories of their own.
