Tat Hidano, who is originally from Japan, has written professionally for companies like Nikon and Canon. He moved to Wichita in 2008 to attend Friends University, and received his bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism and Public Relations in 2011. Within a few months, the University hired him as the international public relation specialist.
At Friends University, Tat is in charge of developing international public relations programs to increase the visibility of the institution both nationally and internationally. He also recruits and helps retain international students.
Outside of campus, he is actively involved in musical venues, art galleries, and churches in Wichita, as well as appearing as a guest musician at other colleges and universities in and out of state. He often represents the University’s fine jazz program as its alumnus.
