Dr. Taylor, Friends University Professor of Tuba, will be joined by Blair Martin, Dr. Timothy Shade and Robert Tierney to present an evening of Euphonium-Tuba Quartet music. This concert will also feature solos by Dr. Taylor and Dr. Shade with selections from Renaissance madrigals to contemporary compositions.

This recital will feature the regional premiere of Paul Elwood’s, “Clean Cut,” the only music piece in the world that combines power tools and cello. Other works will include a choreographed rendition of Bach’s Suite #1 for Solo Cello, Debussy’s Cello Sonata, with Dr. James Knight on piano, and the band “ZMF,” featuring, John Harrison, violin, Randy Zellers, guitar, Susan Mayo, cello, and special guest, Paul Elwood, banjo.

This recital celebrates the bicentennial of Franz Liszt’s birth, October 22, 1811. Musicians all over the world are programming his works in honor of the occasion and even the Budapest Ferihegy International Airport has been renamed the Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport. This recital will include selections from the three books of the Années de Pèlerinage and what is thought of as his greatest piano piece, the Sonata in B Minor.
