Student e-mail accounts and H-drives have gone through a transition during the past summer. Information Technology has worked with Microsoft and alongside other colleges and universities to implement the Microsoft Live@edu program for student accounts.
The goal of the Live@edu migration is to give students at Friends University an even more robust set of productivity tools. This includes a larger mailbox size (increased from 30MB to 10GB), larger file server size (increased from 500MB to 25GB), as well as Windows Live Spaces and Groups.
All current students with existing @friends.edu e-mail accounts will have access to these accounts removed on Sept. 18. It is the responsibility of the student to transfer any e-mails, contacts or other information from their existing @friends.edu e-mail account to their new Live@edu e-mail account.
All current students with existing H-Drives will have their access to these accounts removed on Sept. 18. It is the responsibility of the student to transfer files from their existing H Drive to their new Live@edu Skydrive. After the 30-day transition phase is complete, all access to the existing on-premise services will be removed.
If you have any questions about your Friends University Live@edu account, please contact the Friends University Helpdesk at helpdesk@friends.edu or 316-295-5767.
