Kelley Martin
Director of Community and Residential Development

Kelley Martin earned her Master of Science in Education in student affairs administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has worked previously as director of student affairs at a university in the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Erin Fields earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Her prior experience includes working as a financial aid advisor at a community college and most recently as the guest services manager of a hotel.

Sarah Hatcher
Smith Apartments and Falcon Glenn Coordinator

Sarah Hatcher graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Cameron University in Lawton, Okla. While studying Psychology at Cameron, Sarah was very involved on campus, which included employment within Student Housing as a resident assistant and housing office worker. She enjoys trying new things and meeting new people, and her door is always open to students.

Lacey Landenberger
Green Residence Hall Coordinator

Lacey Landenberger graduated from Colorado Christian University with a degree in youth ministry with an emphasis in leadership and outdoor leadership, while also working for the Residence Life department as a resident assistant. Although she loves backpacking in the Rockies, Lacey is excited to be in Kansas where she grew up. She enjoys baking cookies, being outside, watching HGTV, and hanging out with students … whether at crazy events or sipping chai tea!

Green Residence Hall Coordinator

Taylor Lyon is from Michigan, but comes to Friends by way of Oregon and Pennsylvania. He graduated from Anderson University in Indiana with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries. He enjoys being active in all things sports as well as watching movies and studying the Bible and theology. He has spent the last three years working in residence life as a student and is very excited to continue his career as a Green Residence Hall coordinator and the Intramural coordinator.

Brett McLaughlin graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where he earned a degree in history. He enjoys hanging out with people and doing just about anything, especially if it has to do with watching Carolina sports. Brett likes to sit around and talk, and invites students to “feel free to drop by my office.” A “die-hard” Carolina fan “’til the day I die,” Brett “can’t stand Duke, but prays for all those who ‘claim’ to be fans because they don’t understand what they are really getting themselves into.”

Nissi Costello is from Wichita. She is majoring in Religion and Philosophy and hopes to someday found a ministry for people who have been through human trafficking. She is involved with drama and music, and loves any opportunity to learn and grow! She loves to love and eagerly looks forward to the adventure of being an RA in the Falcon Glenn.

Libby Derby is double-majoring in biology education and Christian spiritual formation with the hopes of being a middle or high school science teacher overseas in a missionary or international community. She is originally from Wichita, but has lived all around the United States and even South Korea. She loves to spend her time baking, blogging, listening to music, and being with people, whether watching movies, playing games, or just hanging out. She is so excited to see what God has in store for this year!

Brooke Doerksen is currently a Business Administration major. Her hometown is right here in Wichita. She enjoys being part of the track and field team, and her favorite event is pole vaulting. She is unsure of what she wants to do with her major, but she tries to glorify God in all things. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies and eating cookie dough.

Mitchell Heller runs cross country and track at Friends University, and is involved in campus ministries. He enjoys hanging out with friends and serving people alongside his friends. He is an accounting major and encourages incoming students to find their place at Friends and get plugged in as soon as possible.

Nick Janney is a senior from Wellington, Kan., majoring in Business Administration and Christian Spiritual Formation. He is a student worker in the Casado Campus Center and is involved with Intramurals, Singing Quakers and Student Government Association. He loves spending time with his friends and playing ultimate Frisbee, video games and board games. Nick’s dream is to one day own some sort of business where he can help others achieve their dreams. He is so excited to be an RA this year and can't wait to build community with the new and existing students at Friends!

Nate Johnson is a sophomore from Paonia, Colorado. He is majoring in music education and would like to eventually get his master's degree to teach at the college level. He is involved in band, Singing Quakers, jazz band and other music groups. He really likes to play ultimate frisbee and ping pong and will be up to playing either one almost anytime. His favorite sport is baseball and plays it any chance he gets. Nate looks forward to a year committed to Christ. He is excited to be an RA and cannot wait to welcome new and returning students back to Friends University.

Fred Koepp plays soccer at Friends and is part of the Singing Quakers. He enjoys playing piano, posting on his blog and leading through service. He is a Communications major. He encourages students to set goals and then make decisions that will lead them toward achieving those goals.

Paige Logsdon grew up in the community of Douglass, Kan. and is majoring in sociology here at Friends University. So far in her time at the University she has been involved in intramurals, Women’s Chorus, Cornerstone Crew and theatre. Her hobbies include biking, swimming, basketball, baking and working out. She’s spending her 2011 summer months in Dallas, Texas as an intern with an organization called Project Transformation, running day camps for inner-city kids. She’s looking forward to being an RA for the first time in the great Green Hall.

Skyler Miner is from Chanute, Kansas, and is majoring in health science. He hopes to become a physical therapist. He is a member of the Friends University golf team and enjoys playing sports, participating in campus activities and intramurals, and drawing. His advice for students is to stay involved, do the best you can, and everything will fall into place!

Savannah Struck is from San Antonio and is a Communications major. She is on the soccer team, participates in Campus Ministries and works in the Friends University athletic department. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music and watching movies. Some of her interests include serving others in the community and photography. There are so many fun activities and organizations to get involved in at Friends University and Savannah encourages incoming freshman to get plugged into something they are interested in right away. As an RA, she is excited to see what God has in store for this year and can't wait to be a part of building the community.

Jacob Thayer is a soccer player at heart, but is also extremely involved in fine arts at Friends University. Along with soccer, he participates in the concert band, jazz band and takes private music lessons. He is majoring in Business Administration and plans on minoring in either Accounting or Mathematics. Jacob loves being around people and providing an inspirational figure for his peers to look up to. He is so thankful for the opportunity to be a resident assistant in Green Residence Hall!

Peyton Wade is a religion and philosophy major with an emphasis in Christian spiritual formation. He hopes to one day work to help people grow and be fulfilled. He is involved in the track and cross country program as well as a member of the choir. He also enjoys working with campus ministries and helping out with Cornerstone. In his free time he likes to hang out with people, read, play music and make up silly games. He is excited for a new year and the opportunity to be with students as an RA.

Community and Residential Development Student Worker

Daniel Herbert is a Music and Christian Spiritual Formation major. He plans to work at, or eventually create, a non-profit organization doing some sort of work inspiring creativity in the community. He also would like to bike somewhere far away, spend a summer working at an orphanage in Brazil and be a school bus driver. Life in community is his passion, where people are regularly the answers to each other’s prayers. He gives large amounts of time to a community collective pop-folk band, where he writes music, plays guitar, and sings.

Patrick Trollman is a senior majoring in Sociology. He plays tennis for the University and also plays in the band and orchestra. He enjoys playing soccer and golf, and doing lots of other activities like bowling, fishing and snowboarding. He plans to either attend grad school or become a firefighter after graduation.
