In an uncertain employment market, Friends University is reaching out to alumni and current students to help place them on their career paths with the fall 2009 Career Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 10 in the Olive White Garvey Business and Technology Building on the University’s Wichita campus.
The Career Fair will offer networking opportunities for participants to meet with representatives from local and national companies who are hiring full-time employees, part-time employees or interns. Participating companies include Aflac, Protection One, New York Life, T-Mobile, Koch Industries, and Wells Fargo. For a complete list of participating employers, visit www.friends.edu/business-career-fair.
“The Business Career Fair serves as an opportunity for students and alumni to meet with business professionals during their peak hiring season, especially for internships,” said Amy Dible, director of Campus and Career Transitions. “Attending the fair will benefit students and alumni by providing a networking opportunity and distributing resumes and cover letters to relevant employers.”
The deadline for employers to register for the fair is Sept. 7.
Job-seekers do not need to register, but are encouraged to have their resumes evaluated or brush up interview skills before the fair. Free assistance is available by appointment through the Campus Career and Transitions Office.
Students, alumni or employers who are interested in participating should contact Amy Dible in the Campus and Career Transitions Office at 316-295-5623, email@example.com or visit the Career Fair Web page.
