Military Appreciation Football Game Set for Oct. 24

Friends University appreciates and honors the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military members. This Saturday, Oct. 24, the University is hosting a Military Appreciation Football Game. Free admission will be given to all military personnel and their dependents by showing a military ID on this day.

The game against Tabor College will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will take place at Adair-Austin Stadium and Hoyt Athletic Field on the Friends University campus. There will also be giveaways, drawings and photos with the university mascot – Freddy Falcon.

In addition, the Friends University Veterans United Student Organization will be collecting Toys for Tots at the game. The Friends University Veterans United Student Organization was formed in the spring semester of 2015.

Friends University offers a 10 percent discount on tuition for all retired and honorably discharged veterans, and Friends University programs are approved for Veterans Education Benefits which can also help finance veterans’ educational goals.

Veterans who apply to Friends University have their application fee waived; they are eligible for four academic credits for any DD214 showing honorable discharge; and they could qualify for additional credits for military training through the Prior Learning Assessment program.
