Friends University hires Bewersdorf as vice president of finance/chief financial officer

Dr. Amy Bragg Carey, president of Friends University, is pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees has elected Marsha Anderson Bewersdorf, CPA, CCIFP, as the vice president of finance/chief financial officer.

Bewersdorf is the former director of business and finance at Hutton Construction Corp. of Wichita. Her prior experience includes CFO for the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of Kansas, senior controller at Accenture BPO Services and business manager of the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, where she currently serves as a board member.  She is also on the board of the Spina Bifida Association of Kansas. Marsha spent 10 years in public accounting firms specializing in small business consulting, software and system implementation, general tax, and non-profit audit.

“We are pleased to have Marsha Bewersdorf join us to lead the finance and accounting department at Friends University,” Dr. Carey said. “Marsha’s expertise, coupled with her passion for non-profit advocacy, made her an ideal candidate for the role.”

Bewersdorf is a graduate of Wichita State University with a bachelor of science in Accounting and an MBA in Business Administration. She began her job at Friends Monday, Oct. 26.
