Alumni Choir to Sing ‘Good News’

The 75-voice Friends University Singing Quaker Alumni Choir directed by Dr. Cecil J. Riney will present “Ain’a That Good News: A Concert of Spirituals” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb Rd.

The concert will feature accompanist Helen Griffin and soloists Earnest Alexander, Rachel Bollinger, Eric Stone and Brian Stranghoner. Ann Jeter will also be featured on organ for one selection. The program features the work of notable composers such as Dawson, Dilworth, Hogan and Andre Thomas.

A dessert reception will be hosted by the Friends University Alumni Association after the concert in the Fellowship Hall.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased with cash or by check at the door. To purchase advance tickets, contact the Friends University Fine Arts Office.
