Friends University currently has 23 international students representing 15 foreign countries among its Wichita, Lenexa and Topeka sites including Bangladesh, Canada, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and the United Kingdom.
The University celebrated its international students during the U.S. Department of State/U.S. Department of Education International Education Week 2009 Nov. 16-20 with an international flag display. Each flag represented the home country of at least one international student attending Friends University. The flags were strung in front of the Davis Administration Building above Rose Window Plaza. Students had the opportunity to participate in a flag identification contest for the chance to win a $25 gift card to the Friends University Bookstore. Senior Roman Rodriguez won the contest. Students could also take an online quiz to test their cultural savvy.

“I would definitely recommend that they go to a place like Friends University and at least inquire about it. What they would learn is that it’s not as difficult as they think. It can be intimidating … but the rewards, in my opinion, are great.”
