When was the last time you had a great conversation? In the fast-paced world of text messaging and Facebook, face-to-face communication has declined faster than the speed of an e-mail. In hopes of bringing intelligent conversation away from the light of a computer screen, Friends University is sponsoring Great Conversation! from 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 9 at Wichita Scottish Rite. This event will consist of a dinner followed by enlightened conversation on a topic with esteemed community leaders and Friends University faculty.
Participants may choose a topic of interest from categories such as: arts and literature, business and community, education, leisure and lifestyles, politics and history, religion, and science and technology. Registration will begin Jan. 4, 2010, on the Web, by mail or by phone. The cost per person is $60.
Funds raised by this event will go toward Presidential Scholarships for new and returning Friends University students. For more information, click here.

“I would definitely recommend that they go to a place like Friends University and at least inquire about it. What they would learn is that it’s not as difficult as they think. It can be intimidating … but the rewards, in my opinion, are great.”
