Friends University’s new Web site won a gold in the Web Site Overall category as part of the MarCom Awards in October. The University’s Web vendor, PlattForm Advertising, entered the new Web site in this international awards program. PlattForm also won awards for its execution on print and television involving traditional college and university-related advertising and marketing pieces.
“The development of the new Web site has involved much time and effort for many areas of the University during the past year. We’re very pleased this award recognizes the progress that has been made so far,” said Gisele McMinimy, communications director. “We are also working on Phase II of the Web site, which will involve the addition of interactive features. These new features will further enhance user experiences on the site.”
McMinimy also noted the Web site is being submitted in other awards contests, such as the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
MarCom Awards are governed and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. This organization started in 1995, and consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and free-lance professionals internationally. The Association administers awards and recognition programs, provides judges, and sets standards for excellence.
PlattForm CEO David Admire said it was nice to be recognized for PlattForm’s team effort.
“We’re proud to be making an impact in higher education and of the effort our teams go to in order to make sure we understand our clients’ creative needs,” he said.
Friends University’s Web site was one of numerous entries. Other entrants included Fortune 500 companies, national public relations organizations, local ad clubs and local business chapters. For more information regarding this award, click here.
