The Friends University Singing Quakers will join forces with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and Chorus to present one of the best-loved masterpieces of classical music. The “German Requiem” by Brahms reflects both upon the human experience of death and dying, and the triumph of hope and resurrection, said Dr. Mark Bartel, director of choral music.
“This special concert marks the final performance of Maestro Andrew Sewell with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, with whom the Singing Quakers have enjoyed a long-standing relationship,” Dr. Bartel said.
In one of their last performances of the year, the Singing Quakers will perform at 8 p.m. April 10 and at 3 p.m. April 11 at Century II Concert Hall, located at 255 W. Douglas in Wichita.
