Friends University Athletic Director Joe Zimmerman was selected by athletic directors and faculty athletic representatives of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) to represent the KCAC on the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) administrative council.

Zimmerman will occupy a seat on the 32-member council for the next three years and will be involved in formulating policies, procedures, operations and rules interpretation for the NAIA. The NAIA National Administrative Council is the governing body of the NAIA, consisting of conference commissioners and athletic directors from the 300 NAIA member institutions. The council is comprised of subcommittees which legislate Awards and Statistics, Championship Competition, Rules and Ratings, and the Experience and Enhancement opportunities for the student athlete.

Zimmerman, who sits on the Executive Committee of the KCAC governing council, is completing his seventh year as Friends University athletic director and will serve on one of the four NAIA administrative council subcommittees as well.
