The majestic clock tower of the Davis Administration Building is a token of pride for the University as well as a local community landmark. Due to the summer 2009 hail storm, however, the building is undergoing some repairs.
The roof is comprised of slate, which could not withstand the severe hail storm. Beginning in April, workers have started working on the tower to replace the roof. Covered walkways and scaffolding can be seen on and around the tower as preventative measures for passersby until this work is completed. The roof repairs have an anticipated fall completion date.
The lights on the clock tower will be replaced and lighted after repairs to the roof are completed, hopefully in time for Christmas 2010.
