About 70 prospective high school students will take part in Friends University’s Fine Arts Showcase from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Riney Fine Arts Center. Students and parents are welcome to attend, and they are invited to stay after lunch if interested in certain department activities such as ballet class and individual meetings with Sharon Rogers, Jazz Band rehearsal and Percussion Ensemble rehearsal.

The day’s events consist of registration, University Band rehearsal, student recitals (vocal and music), student panel, classroom visits, campus tours, time with Admissions and Financial Aid, and other activities. Students will also audition for scholarship opportunities in drama, vocal, instrumental, ballet, art, graphics and communication.

Time slots are still available for any interested students, but reservations are due by Oct. 20. Students will be expected to have a piece prepared for the day.
