The artistic talents of Friends University’s students and staff will be on display for all to see at the 2011 Spring Semester Friends University Student and Faculty Art Show. The works are on display through Jan. 31 in the Riney Fine Arts Center. There will be a Final Friday reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 28.

Adam Achey, adjunct professor of art at Friends University, says this year’s exhibit is diverse with mixed-media paintings, drawings and prints. Not only does the show feature University faculty and students, but also features works by artist-in-residence Curt Clonts.

“The diversity of the work is quite interesting and unique, with a wide range of  approaches to the use color, many expressive black-and-white pieces, different subject matters, and variety of price levels, too. Multitudes of art for everyone,” Achey said.

Achey strongly encourages the University and Wichita art communities to attend the Final Friday reception.

“This is an artist's reception, which means you can stop by and meet some of the artists,” Achey said.
