Eighth Day Institute to Present ‘Atonement’ Broadcast Feb. 12

Friends University and Eighth Day Institute will present the lecture series “Symposium” via a live Internet feed 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 in the University’s Olive White Garvey Business and Technology Building, room 103.

The patristics symposium, “On the Tree of the Cross: the Patristic Doctrine of the Atonement,” will honor Fr. Georges Florovsky, the 20th century Orthodox Christian theologian. The concept of atonement will be examined according to important writings from experts such as St. Irenaeus of Lyons, St. Gregory the Theologian and others. Anyone interested in theology and relations between Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox or understanding faith are encouraged to attend.
