Friends University will proudly present Dr. Jamie Knight, professor of music, in a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15 in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium.

Knight’s performance, “Songs Without Words,” will feature piano transcriptions for voice – mostly transcribed by Liszt, who’s 200th anniversary is this year. Pieces performed will include Errlking, LaDanz and the Rigoletto fantasy. Additionally, Knight will perform a transcription of his own of Strauss’ Morgen.

“After all these years accompanying singers, it’s very interesting and instructive to try these out on my own,” Knight said.

The recital is free and open to the public. For more information on this or any other Fine Arts performance at Friends University, contact the Fine Arts box office at 316-295-5677.
