More than 400 high school students from across Kansas visited Friends University to get a grasp on the practical applications of psychology.
Friends University hosted the third annual Psych Fair April 3 in the Casado Campus Center. More than 75 volunteers were on hand to work with high school psychology students from as far away as Salina.
Student attendees had the opportunity to win a scholarship, meet with campus representatives, play The Really, Really Tall Short Term Memory Show, follow others through the Human Maze, and learn about the affects of anxiety on memory.
“The Psych Fair is intended to complement high school psychology,” said Dr. Donna Stuber, professor of psychology. “It was started because area teachers wanted more opportunities for their students to see psychology in action and to better grasp how the concepts apply to real life.”
