‘Show Me the Money’ Helps High School Students Prepare for College
Friends University invites high-school students and their instructors to “Show Me the Money” portfolio day from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. This event is free and lunch will be provided.
Students will learn how to prepare their portfolio when applying to college for scholarships in studio art, graphic design, computer graphics, art education, media, journalism and public relations. They will also have an opportunity to have their portfolio critiqued by the professors at Friends University. Critique sessions will be 10 minutes and a limited number of students will be able to participate.
Additionally, Dustin Parker – graphic designer, illustrator, painter, digital artist and Friends University alumnus – will be the featured speaker at 9:10 a.m. Parker has participated in more than 60 exhibits across the globe, and his works have been featured in Logo Lounge, Head magazine and The Wichita Eagle.
The Friends University admissions staff will be available for campus tours and to answer questions for those who are interested.
Registration is required to attend this free event and for the portfolio critiques. The deadline for registration is 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26. Registration can be completed online at www.friends.edu/show-me-the-money.
