Be prepared to witness the dark side of dance when students take the stage in “Nicest Kids in Town” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28-29 in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium.
The third annual student-led showcase has “a dark-to-light theme,” said Cherie Sullivan, senior Music Theatre major. “The first act has a more dark and creepy feeling to it. ‘Is It Scary’ is a Michael Jackson dance with a little Halloween theme to it. And the second act is more light and fun with hopeful songs.”
Fine Arts seniors have the option of either performing a senior recital or performing in this yearly student showcase. The event will feature musical, dance and dramatic performances.
“I chose to do a showcase as a great learning experience of how to put a show in the professional world,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan encourages the University and Wichita community to come see the stage performances of these local budding talents.
“This is a fun-filled show with many talented Friends University student performers. Audiences will be spellbound with the range of performances – from spooky to light – and leave with a smile on their faces,” she said.
Tickets cost $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors and students. For more information about this show or other Fine Arts events and performances, please call the Friends University Fine Arts Office at 316-295-5677.
