ACTS of FAITH to Present ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’
Audiences are invited to follow a passionate traveler on his flight from destruction to find the promise land in the original two-act play, “Pilgrim’s Progress,” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17-20 in the Davis Administration Building’s Alumni Auditorium.
Friends University’s ACTS of FAITH will be presenting a new comic adaptation of Patrick Dorn’s poignant 17th century classic by John Bunyan. Though originally produced by Denver’s The Troupe in 2008, this will be that production’s Kansas premiere.
“Patrick Dorn has given us special permission to workshop this new script for potential publication,” said Kurt Priebe, assistant professor of drama and ACTS of FAITH faculty sponsor. “He hopes to market this to young audiences in the future.”
The production is presented by ACTS of FAITH in honor of its 15th anniversary of outreach to the Wichita community and beyond. Seventeen students portray more than 70 roles in this contemporary allegory and chancel drama. ACTS of FAITH is an interdenominational ministry outreach of the Friends University Theatre Department, was founded in 1996 and has presented featured comic, dramatic, pantomime performances by invitation at local churches and schools and regional and national Christian Drama and Worship conferences since 1998.
Tickets to the performance cost $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors and students. For more information on this performance or other Fine Arts events, please contact the Fine Arts box office at 316-295-5677 or email@example.com.
