New York, Houston Dancers to Perform in ‘Nutcracker’
A holiday tradition comes alive as Friends University presents its annual showcase of “The Nutcracker,” complete with Sugar Plum fairies, a mouse king and a handsome prince.
“The Nutcracker” will be performed at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10; 2 p.m. Dec. 11; 7:30 p.m. Dec. 16-17; and 2 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium.
Friends University and Wichita Ballet will feature local dancers and ballet majors at Friends University. The guest artists for Dec. 10-11 will be Melody Herrera and Connor Walsh from Houston Ballet. Dec. 16-18 performances will feature guest artists Wendy Whelan and Tyler Angle, principal dancers with The New York City Ballet. Ballet Department director Stan K. Rogers will direct the performances.
