A popular component of Wichita’s skyline – now restored to its full glory – will again be part of the Friends University Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The Friends University Davis Administration Building clock tower will be ablaze with festive lights as part of the annual holiday lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the second floor of the Davis Administration.
“We are excited to once again be lighting the tower as a part of the annual ceremony,” said Gary Rapp, director of Campus Life. The July 2009 hailstorm caused extensive damage to the roof of the building and destroyed the majority of the Christmas lights.
“This is such a special time of year for not only the campus community but for all who travel through Wichita and witness the beauty that is the Davis Administration Building lit to celebrate the holiday season.”
A dramatic performance by ACTS of FAITH will be part of the festivities, along with a reading of “The Christmas Story,” caroling and free hot cocoa.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information about this or any other Friends University event, please contact Gisele McMinimy at 316-295-5809.
