Adjunct Faculty Member Earns Accounting Award
Friends University adjunct professor Seth Albin is one of 10 recipients of the Elijah Watt Sells Award, which recognizes outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA Examination by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Albin teaches in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. He also serves as the chief financial officer at Exacta Aerospace, a leading Tier One supplier of high-precision aerospace parts and assemblies. In the past, Albin has also worked as a loan officer for Commerce Bank, and has worked in public accounting with Kennedy and Coe’s manufacturing group.
Albin is a summa cum laude graduate of Fort Hays State University. He also earned an MBA from the same institution.
The Sells Award was established in 1923 in honor of Elijah Watt Sells, one of the first people to qualify as a CPA in New York state. Candidates for the award must have completed testing during the previous calendar year and passed all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination on their first attempt, earning the highest cumulative scores. Winners are presented with plaques from the AICPA.
