President’s Run to feature 5K and Mascot Mile races
Join Friends University’s Freddy Falcon, a variety of other Wichita-area mascots and the community for the Friends University President’s Run Saturday, April 5. The event is organized by Friends University’s Run with Friends group, and the presenting sponsor is Armstrong Chamberlin Strategic Marketing.
Participants will have the option of running the Falcon 5K Competitive Race or the non-competitive Mascot Mile Fun Run/Walk around Friends University’s beautiful campus and the surrounding Delano neighborhood. The 5K race will be a part of the upcoming Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon in May.
Registrants will receive a short-sleeved technical T-shirt, race bib (with a timing chip for 5K participants), food ticket, goodie bag and bottled water. Following the race, medals will be presented for first through third places in each age and gender group for the 5K race, but racers must be present to receive their medal. In addition to the awards ceremony, participants will have an opportunity to meet Wichita-area mascots, listen to live music, enjoy a pancake feed by Chris Cakes, and browse a vendor booth area.
Early packet pickup for both the 5K and Mascot Mile will take place at the following locations:
