Fools to take center stage at orchestra’s April performance

The Friends University Community Orchestra presents “The Joke’s On You” at 7:30 p.m. April 1 in the Riney Fine Arts Center’s Sebits Auditorium.

The orchestra’s program, directed by Dr. Wesley DeSpain, will focus on stories about people who were fooled: Prokofiev’s “Lieutenant Kije: Suite"; Frank Proto's “Casey at the Bat” (the poem of the same name will be narrated during the performance); and the “Dance Bacchanale” (based on the Biblical account of Samson and Delilah) by Saint-Saens will be performed.

Tickets are $11 for adults and $9 for seniors and students. They may be purchased online or by calling the Fine Arts Box Office at 316-295-5677.
