Friends University has served students in the Kansas City metro area since 1989. After occupying several facilities, the University moved to its current Lenexa location in 2004.
Throughout our 100-year history, Friends University has worked to meet the needs of Kansas residents. In the 1980s, Friends University recognized the challenges students face when trying to balance work and personal responsibilities with higher education. We made a commitment to develop programs that focus on what is relevant to the real world and allow students to continue the other aspects of their lives.
And the University's commitment to students does not end after graduation. Area alumni find a lifelong connection with their fellow students, faculty, staff and the University community through meetings, special events and class newsletters.
From our early beginnings in Wichita in 1898, through our growth and statewide presence today, Friends University exists to provide students a high-quality educational experience.

“I would definitely recommend that they go to a place like Friends University and at least inquire about it. What they would learn is that it’s not as difficult as they think. It can be intimidating … but the rewards, in my opinion, are great.”
