Friends University has been named a College of Distinction since 2014, including being named as a Christian College of Distinction in 2014 and 2015. As one of only two Kansas colleges appearing on the Christian Colleges of Distinction list in 2015, the designation indicates the University expands a student’s worldview with Christian principles and ideas and allows student to integrate their faith with the real world. Colleges of Distinction is an elite list of top educational entities that honor institutions for their innovative curriculum, variety of learning experiences, campus engagement and post-graduation opportunities. As a College of Distinction, Friends University offers many opportunities for students to be successful not just in the classroom, but throughout their entire college experience.
Friends University was one of only 12 colleges and universities nationwide to be selected to participate in Foundations of Excellence. This program seeks to improve the experience for first-year and transfer students through strategic plans to welcome and orient students.
Friends University recently joined the CCCU as an affiliate member. The organization is made up of more than 180 Christ-centered institutions around the world. The mission of the CCCU is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarships and service to biblical truth.
