Tourism & Recreation

There are hiking trails leading from the camp, as well as many in the surrounding areas. The scenery is breathtaking and a photographer's dream. Stunning views of Pike's Peak, elk grazing in a grassy area, massive boulders, lofty pines and babbling brooks are just a few of the sites you could enjoy.

Some of the hikes can be very physically challenging, so choose your hike according to your and your family's physical capabilities. Even for short hikes, be sure to take adequate water. The air at this altitude is very dry, and it's easy to become dehydrated as your body works harder in the thin air.

Rockcleft is located between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park. The towns are host to many activities, restaurants and attractions. Helpful local tourism links:

And for those seeking some peace and quie t away from a hectic lifestyle, relaxing by the babbling brook flowing through the campground or reading a book on the deck is always a great activity.

If your group would like to volunteer their labor and expertise for a camp service project, please talk with the camp caretaker. We very much appreciate the efforts of groups who have helped with various camp projects.

Rockcleft is owned and operated by Friends University, Wichita, Kans.
