Friends University offers a variety of lifelong learning opportunities for students and community members as well. We offer workshops, seminars and special events in addition to our traditional college programs that help individuals expand their knowledge and gain insight into the world through our continuing education in Kansas.
Christian Spiritual Formation Institute
The Christian Spiritual Formation Institute has three basic aims: to offer a high-quality, hands on undergraduate degree, to minister to existing churches and organizations that are wanting to learn about Christian formation; to work together with existing organizations in order to expand the field of formation.
Great Conversation! features community leaders and Friends University faculty hosting conversations about a wide range of topics such as the arts and literature, business and community, education, leisure and lifestyles, politics and history, religion, and science and technology.
Knowledge Is Power Lectures
Friends University’s Alumni Advisory Boards in Topeka and Kansas City sponsor these continuing education lectures on a wide variety of topics in conjunction with the Friends University Alumni Office.
Law, Liberty and the Market Series
This lecture series features noted academicians from across the United States who will address how the concepts of liberty and free markets interact U.S. and international law to set the stage for innovation, productivity and prosperity. The series is sponsored by the Fred C. and Mary Koch Foundation.
For nearly 60 years, Friends University’s Department of Religion and Philosophy has presented this day-long seminar in Wichita that is geared toward clergy, church staff, chaplains, students preparing for careers in ministry or counseling, and interested laypersons.
The Marriage and Family Therapy Department in Wichita offers noontime lectures on a wide range of topics related to the mental health field.
