Kansas Humanities CouncilFriends University and the Mid-America Yearly Meeting of Friends were awarded a grant from the Kansas Humanities Council called "Cataloging and Preserving Historic Quaker Photos for the Mid-America Yearly Meeting of Friends."

Students and library faculty and staff have categorized approximately 700 pictures into the subject headings/categories of Academies, Families, Meetings and Ministers, and Missions. For preservation purposes, approximately 225 of the 700 pictures will have 4-by-5 inch black and white reprints and negatives made by the Kansas State Historical Society. These pictures will be protected by plastic sleeves and housed in the Mid-America Yearly Meeting Room.
